I’m a little fussy when it comes to shopping for work. Actually, I’m ridiculously fussy! If something isn’t the right length, fit, fabric or shape I know I’ll feel uncomfortable so I won’t bother buying it until I find the exact one I’m looking for.
I’d been searching for the perfect sweater to wear to the office for what feels like forever, but I’ve finally discovered a brand that tick all the boxes and I’ve been so excited to share it with you!
John Smedley are the creators of the world’s finest knitwear. A bold statement I know, but you’ll understand when you feel and wear once of their pieces. They’re a British, family run business who’ve been around since 1784, so I think it’s fair to say they know what they’re doing when it comes to knitwear!

Dressing for the office is hard, especially when you have to factor in things like air-con, last minute dashes across London to meet clients and trying to remain professional as well as stylish! That’s why I find a simple sweater and pencil skirt combo the perfect staple outfit to suit anything the day throws at you.
Sweaters are the perfect items to wear from season to season, but they have to be the right style and fabric, which is where John Smedley have got it spot on.
This particular one is made from the softest merino wool which has been knitted in a lightweight gauge, making it perfect for the constant changes in temperature we experience here in the UK!
The sun decided to grace us with its presence on the day we spot these photos, so I wore the sweater simply on its own, but the lightweight design means it can be easily thrown on over a shirt, or worn with a blazer over the top. Layering is the secret to getting through this awkward transition period as we make our way into Spring!
This particular sweater comes in 14 additional colours, and I’m already eyeing up the dandy red version! Which colour is your favourite?
