She Goes Wear aims to inspire and motivate women in business across all aspects of life, featuring workwear style inspiration, tips and tricks for work, beauty and everything in between!

Hey, I’m Dorothy and I’m the blogger behind! I currently live just outside of London in Essex with my boyfriend Lloyd and my three rescue dogs Bailey, Bella and Betsy.

I started back in 2013 as a hobby and a place where I could escape now and again whilst working full time in Insurance. After 10 years working as an Underwriter and just after She Goes Wear’s 5th birthday, I handed in my notice to pursue my blog full time!

I felt most confident at work when I was wearing an outfit I loved. I also enjoyed introducing trends, playful patterns and colours but remaining smart at the same time. This is why I decided to focus She Goes Wear on workwear style, to help inspire other women to look and feel their best during their 9-5.

What do you do as a job?

I started working in Insurance from the age of 18, as soon as I left college. After 8 and a half years at the company I was working for, I handed in my notice in July 2018 to work full-time on my blog.

Why did you start She Goes Wear?

I’ve always loved dressing up for work. When Victoria Beckham once said “I can’t concentrate in flats”, I felt she was reading my mind. I genuinely can’t! Other girls in my office frequently asked me where my outfits were from, which sparked the idea to start a fashion blog. In July 2013, I finally plucked up the courage to publish my first post, after worrying for months about what people would think of me. If I could go back in time I would tell myself off for that! She Goes Wear initially started as an online diary, documenting my outfits and adventures. It was whilst shopping for workwear clothing and completely lacking inspiration myself, that I discovered the need for a workwear inspired blog, so that became my focus. She Goes Wear aims to fill that gap, inspire and make it easier to shop professional yet stylish outfits for the office, whatever the budget.

What camera do you use?

I hire a photographer to take the majority of my outfit shots around London, but I have a Canon 5D Mark IV with a 24-70mm F/2.8L lens for when I rope in Lloyd or a friend to take them for me!

What breed of dog are Bailey, Bella and Betsy and how did you adopt them?

I rescued Bailey and Bella from and they are Kokonis (a greek domestic dog), which basically means they are a bit of everything! Bella definitely has dachshund in her somewhere and Bailey has poodle in her. They were both found separately as puppies. Bella was only days old, dumped at the side of the road without her mother. Bailey was found with her mother, sister and brother. Unfortunately her sister passed away but Bailey, her brother and mother all found homes in the UK!

Betsy was rescued from a much smaller charity called Pawprints To Freedom who have the most incredible team of people helping dogs all over the world find homes. They focus mainly in Romania where they’ve just built their own shelter. I came across Betsy’s video on their facebook page which broke my heart into a million pieces, and just over a month later she was driven from Romania and dropped off at her forever home, with me! Betsy is a mixed breed, and the sweetest little girl despite all the trauma she has been through.

How can I contact you?

If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to email me on and I will reply as soon as possible.

I occasionally use affiliate links when linking specific products. This means that I will receive a very small commission if a product is bought through a link found on my blog. If I’m lucky enough to work with a brand I love, I will always give full disclosure in the specific blog post, so you’ll know it’s sponsored. I am occasionally lucky enough to receive products to sample/review, but I would never write about or accept anything that I didn’t believe in or felt didn’t fit with my blog’s style and content. This is something I feel very strongly about, therefore I only feature products that I genuinely love!
