Spring/Summer Beauty Post

I haven’t done a beauty post in a while now, so it’s definitely long overdue! I’ve bought some lovely new bits recently, and I’m still obsessed with some old favourites, so I’ve rounded them all together for a big beauty catch up!

Lets start with my favourite candle ever!…

As you can see it’s almost near the end because I can’t help but light it every single day. Considering I got it back in March though it’s last a good few months.

It’s by a brand called “True Grace” and the smell is called “Orangery” and within seconds of lighting it makes the entire room smell amazing. I always light it when I have guests round and guaranteed they will always mention about how lovely it smells!

These are 4 of my favourite products that I’ve been using on my hair recently…

From left to right:

Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo – I use a lot of products on my hair at times, such as hairspray, dry shampoo and oil, so I like to use this shampoo once a week for a deep cleanse.

Batiste Brunette Dry Shampoo – My number 1 hair product! I keep this in my bag at all times!! It’s my lifesaver when I’m in a rush and want my hair to have a quick freshen up. I love the brunette version because it makes my colour look glossy.

Ors Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Sheen Spray – I spray a small mist of this olive oil spray over my hair after I’ve styled it, and it gives a really glossy effect. It can also be used on wet hair before a blowdry.

Kerastase Resistance Fibre Architecte – I absolutely love the Kerastase brand. Every one of their products make my hair feel amazing. I run this serum through the ends of my wet hair just before blowdrying. It is developed for brittle hair and split ends, and helps to repair damaged hair for a smooth result. I really notice the difference if I don’t use it!

Next up are 4 products I use on my face and body that I’m loving at the moment…

I just had to include the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream because I’ve been using it for years and it’s always a staple in my make up bag. I use it on my lips throughout the day to make them ridiculously soft and it acts as a lip gloss too!

This Sanctuary Spa 4 day moisture oil scrub feels amazing on my skin. I use it to exfoliate once or twice a week and it makes my skin feel soooo smooth for days.

I had my first diamond microdermabrasion facial a few months ago and I asked the beautician to recommended a cleanser that would help my skin. She recommended the Dermalogica Age Smart Skin Resurfacing Cleanser and I noticed the results almost instantly! I think the facials each month definitely help as well, but this cleanser has done wonders for my skin.

Since Christmas I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Moisturising Balm, and I genuinely don’t know what I’d do without it!! I carry it in my bag at all times in case I ever need it. It is designed for extra extra dry skin (perfect for me then) and is a balm rather than a cream, so it’s super rich and thick. It’s both a day and night cream too which is handy!

I absolutely adore this Dior nail varnish. It can be worn on it’s own for a natural look, but I like to use it on top of a colour polish as it gives a beautiful glistening effect. So pretty!

I’ve currently re-fell in love the above two products. I used to use both the YSL Touche Eclat and YSL Mascara years and years ago, but I began testing out new products and completely forget about them. They’re now both safely back in my make up bag! I use the Touche Eclat under my eyes every morning to hide my dark circles and the mascara makes my lashes long and thick.

I’ve worn the same Chanel foundation for years and I never thought I’d ever change to a different brand, let alone to a tinted moisturiser! I always thought tinted moisturisers had next to no coverage and would make me look like I had no make up on, but I was so wrong! I received a tiny tester of the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with a purchase I made in Space NK, and I decided to try it out which resulted in me buying the full size in colour Alaska.

It smoothed over my skin beautifully, and although I felt the same about my Chanel foundation, I still felt that if my skin was particularly dry that day the foundation wouldn’t sit properly and it’d look patchy. The Nars tinted moisturiser has surprisingly good coverage too, and it’s buildable so if you want extra you can simply top it up a little.

It contains factor 30 SPF, which is ideal for a day in the sun this Summer so you don’t have to worry about getting a burnt face which is never a good look!

I then like to put some of my absolute favourite Benefit Hello Flawless powder (in Cute as a Bunny Honey) over the top for a flawless look.

My favourite everyday lipstick at the moment is the Lipstick Queen in colour Jean Queen. It looks really dark in the picture but it’s a subtle darkish pink that I can wear in both the daytime and evening.

I bought the new Dior Addict Fluid Stick from their fabulous store in Paris (the one where Carrie fell!). From the outside it looks like a lipstick, until you open it to reveal a lipgloss applicator soaked in colour. It glides on like a lipstick, together with the shine of a gloss and the colour acts as a tint to stay on your lips for hours.

I have a slight obsession with Nars products! Their Laguna bronzer and Liberty blush are regulars in my make up bag and I am yet to find better than these award winning products! Love them!

I have permanent make up applied to my eyebrows by Tracie Giles, which I adore, but if I want them slightly darker for an evening out, I like to use the Mally Beauty Brow Fix which is so quick and easy to use, followed by the Benefit Brow Zing for precise definition. The Benefit Brow Zing also comes with a teenie tiny pair of tweezers for emergency plucking!

My last but most newest purchase is the limited edition Laura Mercier Baked eye colour quad, in Summer in St. Tropez. I didn’t intend on purchasing it at first but after spotting it in Space NK and testing it out, I completely fell in love with the colours. I don’t usually wear a lot of colour on my eyes but the smoky brown mixed with the dark blue looked beautiful together, with the pale blue shimmer in the corner of my eyes to make them pop. I can’t wait to wear them this summer!

I’m such a beauty junkie and love making new discoveries, so what beauty products are you obsessing over at the moment?
