A crisps and dip restaurant has opened in London. Yep, Hipchips is solely dedicated to the one of the greatest combos in food history!

A few weeks ago, my friend Jess and I were kindly invited down to check it out, which of course we immediately accepted!

As we wandered down Old Compton Street in Soho approaching the restaurant, we noticed piles of crisps stacked up and shining in the window, enticing people inside!

The concept is simple. Sweet or savoury crisps (or both if you’re not silly), and your choice of dips. Savoury crisps are covered in salty goodness and the sweet ones are seasoned with sugar and cinnamon. I thought I would hate the concept of the sweet crisps but they actually turned out to be my favourite, especially when dipped in Peanut Butter & Jelly! The dreammmm!

The dips were spectacular and nothing like the type you buy in the supermarket. Full of flavour and even the more weirder concoctions were strangely moreish.

Forget your classic sour cream and chive, and think along the lines of Katsu curry & Moroccan yogurt!

We washed our crisps & dips down with a couple of bottled cocktails and felt surprisingly full as we left the restaurant.

I wouldn’t necessarily visit for dinner, but if I worked in the area I would certainly be stopping by much more often for an afternoon snack. Also, I know exactly where I’m heading after my next night out in Soho!

No need to book, just turn up and wait your turn. I promise it’s worth it!
