Breakfast @ Duck & Waffle

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day! There’s nothing better than a huge breakfast to set you off for the day. I’m not a morning person though, so I rarely have time to whip up a big hearty breakfast and usually find myself eating something quick and convenient at my desk, which is such a shame!

This is why I love breakfast meetings, and especially when they’re at Duck & Waffle! I have a slight obsession with restaurants and bars with a view, so I could not wait to check it out. Located at the top of the Heron Tower, you’re able to dine in the clouds with panoramic views of London in all it’s beauty. It’s worth visiting for this reason alone!

Firstly, I’ll start with what I wore before moving onto the spectacular views and the breakfast I ordered that alone will make you want to book a reservation tomorrow!

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s); = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

The lift has floor to ceiling glass windows, allowing you to take in the spectacular view as you’re rapidly whizzed up to the 40th floor in seconds. A tip for anyone scared of heights…close your eyes!

To get to the restaurant, we walked through their bar, which had the most beautiful flooring and really cool milk bottle lighting! 8am was a bit too early to try a cocktail, even for me, so this is another excuse for me to come back.

The spacious restaurant is bursting with light, which completely woke me up from my 8am daze. It’s moments like this that make me feel guilty about not being a morning person, but I guess everything looks better when you’re 40 floors up in the clouds overlooking the city!

I ordered a freshly squeezed blood orange, which was so refreshing, I find blood orange so much tastier than sweet orange. I also ordered a pot of tea…obviously!

Now for the best part…after initially wanting to order every single item on the menu, I finally decided on the Belgian waffle with caramelized bananas, homemade nutella, vanilla ice cream and peanut crunch.

If I could eat one breakfast every day for the rest of my life, this would be it! And I genuinely don’t think I’d ever get bored of it.

It was simple amazing!

Their British and European inspired breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and late night offerings have been developed by their award winning executive chef, Daniel Doherty, and I cannot wait to come back and test them all out.

This is not the last Duck & Waffle will be seeing of me, that’s for sure! I didn’t realise until recently that they’re open 24/7 so I have a feeling my friends and I will be popping in this summer for a bite to eat after a night out in the city!
