Healthy Green Smoothie Recipe

I find it hard making sure I eat enough vegetables and fruit throughout the day, probably down to my forgetfulness but mainly because I find them boring to eat! 

This is why I prefer to just whizz them up into a surprisingly tasty smoothie!

Apparently, blending the vegetables and fruit unlocks their nutrients making them even healthier than if eaten normally. 

I had a lot of ingredients lying around in my fridge, so instead of letting them go to waste, I decided to make them into a smoothie. I was so shocked when I first blended them together because I just assumed it would taste horrid, but I genuinely couldn’t even taste the vegetables! It was like drinking a fruity smoothie! This is why I wanted to share it with you…

Ingredients (Serves 2):
2 apples (no skin)
1 banana
Cucumber slices
1 large bunch of kale
1 handful of spinach
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 stick of celery
3 cups of water or coconut water

Simply whizz all the ingredients together in a blender!

Tip: Make a bigger batch and keep cool in the fridge, ready for breakfast, straight after a work out or whenever you fancy a glass of goodness! 

There is never a specific recipe for green smoothies, you can change the fruit to whatever you prefer and add extra ingredients as you wish. Use just enough water/coconut water to run the blender and keep adding more depending on how thick you want the smoothie to be.
