Valentine’s day is approaching whether you like it or not! You can’t hide from it. Seriously, it’s physically impossible with gushy cards and heart shaped gifts thrown in your face in every store you enter! So, my advice is, if you can’t beat them, join them!
It annoys me when people moan about Valentine’s day, because having a day dedicated to making the person you love smile shouldn’t be such a negative thing. Whether it be your partner, sibling, mother, best friend, anyone! Personally, I don’t have any problems with Valentine’s day, but I don’t agree with it being forced upon people. I also believe that it shouldn’t have to cost a fortune.
Here are a few of my favourite ideas for a cheap, alternative way to make this Valentine’s day one to remember. Be warned, the first one is highly likely to bring out the inner child in you!
COSY MOVIE DEN!
You’re never to old to make a den! Drape light sheets over chairs or any tall furniture positioned in a circle around the TV, in order to create a den, leaving an opening on the side to act as a door! Collect together as many duvets and pillows as you can find and position them inside so it’s nice and cosy, then position fairy lights inside too. Put on a film, grab a selection of snacks and drinks and you’re good to go!
BREAKFAST IN BED!
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy breakfast in bed. Personally, breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, so I couldn’t think of anything better than waking up to the smell of pancakes with banana and bacon with lots of maple syrup, along with a hot cup of tea! It’s a gesture that is thoroughly appreciated because it shows thought and effort. Flowers along with the breakfast is optional, but will win extra brownie points!
