My Sunny Weekend

Over the past few weeks I’ve eaten and drank a lot. I’m not complaining though, it’s my favourite thing to do when it’s sunny outside!

I have so many snaps on my phone from the sunny weekend we had a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I’d share them with you. I’m warning you now, they’re mostly of food! Fellow foodies will understand…

My weekend practically began on Thursday when I attended the annual Lloyds 7s Rugby Tournament in Richmond with work. It started off the same as every year, with the obligatory breakfast nearby at All Bar One. Every year breakfast always begins civilized with a fry up (eggy bread with bacon and maple syrup for me) with coffee. As soon as the time deems it acceptable, we move onto more important matters, i.e. prosecco and jagerbombs…

We made a quick pit stop during the afternoon for more food to help us through our all day drinking session. I wish I could remember where we ate because the food was delicious, but my memory is useless!

The day after the rugby tournament we all stumbled into work tired and hungover, already counting down the hours until lunch! We decided we needed food to get us through the rest of the day, so wandered over to the new Tapas restaurant, Bravas Tapas, which has just opened at St Katharine Dock.

The menu is simple, unlike most tapas restaurants I’ve been too where you can’t decide what plates to order from their extensive choice. We pretty much ordered everything on the menu, which included these amazing mini sliders…

And fois gras stuffed quail’s legs wrapped in bacon…

Finished with strawberries soaked in bubbling Cava, with white chocolate on top…

The view was pretty too…

We didn’t quite make it back to the office that afternoon, instead decided that sun and sangria was a much better option! It was Friday after all!

The following day I woke feeling slightly more human! The girls and I wanted to make the most of the sun, so we gathered for a BBQ round Ellise’ house which involved more sangria…

Along with naughty, unhealthy food covered in double cream…how could anyone resist that…

Much to my happiness, the sun and heat seeped its way into Sunday, so my boyfriend and I went on a road trip. We drove around the countryside and made our way to our favourite pub, The Duke’s Head, for a traditional Sunday roast.

After our roast, we made our way back home to sit in the garden with the dogs up until the sun went down.

What a perfect way to end a perfect few days. Can every weekend be just like that, pretty please?!
