Nobu & Galvin at Windows

My favourite type of evening involves good food, yummy cocktails and lots and lots of gossip with some of my favourite people! The girls and I like to have a date in the diary every now and again for an evening of doing just that.

Last Friday, we arranged to meet at Nobu Old Park Lane and for the first time in my entire life, I was early! I took the opportunity to celebrate with a Lychee Martini at the bar whilst I waited for the others to arrive.

We began with a miso soup each, and more cocktails..

Followed by a meal that I could happily eat every day for the rest of my life! A bento box containing mixed sushi, tempura prawns, black cod, mixed veg, sticky rice and tuna sashimi.

It didn’t look much to begin with, but the three of us struggled to finish the contents of our boxes! We felt full, but not the uncomfortable type, and satisfied without any guilt because we had eaten so healthily. I love that feeling!

After a lovely meal, we left in the search for somewhere we could sit and relax with a good cocktail. We walked very conveniently next door to the Hilton Hotel, whizzed up 28 floors to the stunning Galvin at Windows. The panoramic view of London from our table was simply breathtaking. As you all know, I am obsessed with a view and I really believe it transforms a venue, so I was in my element.

If you really want to impress someone on a date, I recommend taking them for a drink or dinner (or both) here.

My favourite touch were the jars of big fluffy marshmallows, plates of chocolates and mixed nuts on each table.

Our lovely waiter sat with us to discuss what we wanted to drink. I told him that my favourite cocktail of all time is the Pornstar Martini, which he proceeded to tell me that Galvin at Windows have their own take on this classic Martini, so I couldn’t wait to try it!

The girls also told him what flavours and ingredients they prefer in a cocktail, and he said he would whip up something they would love, and he didn’t disappoint!

My “Elixir of Love” arrived and it was a showstopper of a cocktail! I felt like I was back in a Science lesson at school with a set of potions in front of me ready to be mixed together to create something magical.

I had a jar containing the cocktail itself, a test tube of prosecco to pour in and half a passion fruit with a tiny spoon to scoop out the contents and add to my glass.

The finished product? Absolutely delicious. Slightly different to the regular Pornstar Martini, and I could taste the delightful twist which must have been down to the Beefeater gin and Calvados apple brandy that’s added to the mixture.

We spent the rest of our evening chatting and gossiping. It was the perfect place for catching up, as the music is just the right volume that creates a relaxed vibe and you can actually have a conversation! Wow, I sound really old and boring, but you know what I mean, right?!

Even the toilets didn’t disappoint, with a separate area to sit down and re-touch your make up, perfect for girlie girls like myself! I would like this in my bathroom at home!

I couldn’t resist a bathroom selfie…

I love visiting places that impress so much that you’re left feeling like you can’t wait to go back, and that’s exactly how I felt leaving Galvin at Windows. I don’t know whether it’s because of our lovely waiter who took the time to chat to us, the marshmallows (yes, I’m easily impressed), or my magnificent cocktail, but I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their menu.

Thank you Nobu and Galvin at Windows for a fabulous evening!
