When I stood in the middle of Somerset house back in February waiting for a show to begin, I looked around and took in the inspiration which surrounded me. Fashion week is the place to be for people watching! Everyone embraces the occasion and confidently displays their individual unique style.
Once the buzz and craziness of fashion week is over, we’re left with a glimpse of what’s to come so we can get ahead of the trends for the season ahead.
Links of London have developed a brilliant tool for us to go back and re-live the best style inspiration from each fashion week. The Watch the World tool also celebrates their fabulous watch collection (I want them all). Each watch represents a different fashion week, and once chosen, you can flick through the pictures to view snippets of upcoming trends. It’s the perfect tool for gaining style inspiration, quickly!
I was challenged by Links of London to re-create a look based on the inspiration I gained from using the tool. I then headed off to Selfridges to purchase some new pieces for my look. I began by making a moodboard in my head whilst flicking through the tool, taking tassels from London, high waisted midi skirts from New York, wool fedora hats from Milan and minimalist staples from Paris. I then combined all of these ideas and inspiration to create a look that suited my individual style.
Whilst browsing through Selfridges, I spotted this gorgeous midi skirt from H&M and instantly knew I had to have it. I adore high waisted skirts, and I was drawn to the big pockets on the front. I kept it simple and paired it with a plain staple T-shirt and heels. Reiss is my favourite high street store, and whenever I shop there I always know I will find something on-trend and stylish. This is where I picked up my wool fedora hat from. It’s the perfect item to throw on effortlessly to make an outfit pop.
I finished the outfit off with my tassel cape over my shoulders and my tassel clutch bag. I kept jewellery minimal as I didn’t want to direct too much attention from the bold skirt. And there you have it, my fashion week inspired look!
