After a painful 4am wake up call and short trip on the Eurostar, we arrived in Paris! As soon as we stepped out of the train station, we were hit by the glorious sunshine and the sight of beautiful Parisian buildings. I felt so happy to be back in this fabulous City.
We picked such a perfect weekend to go, the weather could not have been more beautiful. Paris is definitely most beautiful in the Summer, and we were looking forward to taking full advantage of this and taking in as much sunshine as possible.
For my first day in Paris, I wore my favourite cobalt blue skirt that I’ve had in my wardrobe for as long as I can remember, with a funky top my friend bought me for my birthday from Colombia. I finished the look off with silver block heels, probably not the wisest choice for a day of walking in Paris, but as Christian Louboutin once said “heels are pleasure with pain”!
Our cab pulled up at our hotel and we dropped our bags off before heading straight out to grab some brunch.
I have wanted to visit Hotel Costes for so long after hearing endless good things, but each time I’ve been in Paris I’ve never had the chance to go. As we left the hotel and strolled down the street, I sent a quick tweet out to ask for recommendations on where to go for brunch, and the first one I received recommending Hotel Costes. We took it as a sign and grabbed a cab to take us straight there.
We arrived and was welcomed with huge smiles and taken out to the beautiful outdoor terrace.
Hotel Costes is the perfect place to people watch, with stylish Parisians wandering in and out as we relaxed in the warmth. It’s the ideal spot if you don’t want to be a tourist and discover life as a Parisian for the afternoon! And I can tell you now, I could definitely get used to it!
We ordered the club sandwich each and enjoyed it over a cold bottle of white wine.
The club sandwich was absolutely delicious and set us up for a full afternoon in Paris. We finished our wine and left the stunning terrace, back out into the buzz and heat of the City.
We wandered in the sun, dipping in and out of the shops along Rue Saint-Honoré, when we came across a chocolate shop. I was so tempted to buy the chocolate shoe! Chocolate and shoes, two of my greatest loves!
We made our way towards The Lourve, then walked back towards the Champs-Elysees. After walking off our lunch in the blazing sun, we were ready for a pit stop at a bar for a refreshment!
We picked a lovely outdoor terrace along the Champs-Elysées, where we ordered a bottle of wine and a cheese and meat platter to nibble on.
What was originally planned as a quick stop for refreshments, turned into a few hours and before we knew it, it was time to head back to our hotel to begin getting ready for our evening plans.
This is my ultimate favourite way to spend an afternoon, in the sun with my favourite ladies chatting about everything and anything.
We headed back to the hotel and gathered together in one of the rooms to get ready together.
All dolled up, we made our way to the hotel bar and sat outside as the sun was still shining even at 8pm! After a round of prosecco, we jumped into a cab in the direction of the Moulin Rouge.
The show was….interesting! I adore the film, and expected it to mirror what was shown in the film, but it was completely different, however there were certain parts of the show that was truly amazing. It was just not what I expected, but I’m glad we went.
After the show, we went to Buddha Bar for a couple of hours before heading back to our hotel.
We collapsed into our comfy beds with our alarms set for the morning, ready for another fabulous day in beautiful Paris.
