#OutOfOffice | Ibiza Day One

It was at the beginning of the year that my lovely friend Megan had the absolutely fabulous idea of hosting her hen do in Ibiza! We booked our flights, hotel and began planning the itinerary but it felt like such a long time to wait. This year has zoomed by and before I knew it the week before countdown had begun!

We were picked up at 2am (the struggle was real), and arrived in Ibiza nice and early at 9am and taken straight to Es Vive hotel.

Es Vive is a beautiful boutique hotel located 5 minutes from Bora Bora. I’ve been to their hotel bar after a night out in Ibiza last year, but never stayed at the hotel before and after hearing of it’s huge renovation this year I couldn’t wait to check it out.

Everything is white, clean and chic. Instagram perfect!

My friend Laura and I checked into our room and after a quick tour of the room we lounged on our balcony as we opened our goodie bags that were waiting for us on the bed.

Megan’s sister and her best friend had thoughtfully put together a little goodie bag for each of the girls. The contents inside included a survival kit, sweeties, flash tats, a crown, a shot and most importantly, a willie straw. No hen do is complete without a willie straw!

After rummaging through our goodie bag we threw our bikinis on and joined the rest of the girls downstairs around the pool.

The pool is conveniently located right next to the restaurant and bar, so as we laid in the sun around the pool we ordered multiple refreshments throughout the day in the form of cocktails, including my favourite, Strawberry Daiquiri. Yum!

After a few hours of sun worshipping and countless daiquiris later it was time to start getting ready for our first evening out. We had a table booked at Ushuaia so we planned to get down there for around 6pm.

We arrived at our table and ordered some alcohol to see us through the evening. If anyone’s planning to go to Ushuaia I highly recommend reserving a table as the queue’s at the bar get ridiculous as the evening goes on. You also get access to the VIP toilets, something that is heaven for us girls. Only a few steps from the table and no queue’s! There’s nothing worse than spending your evening in the queue for the loo.

I made sure I got some photos in before the sun set and before things got a little messy.

The headline DJ for the night was Armin van Buuren, but before he made his appearance there were other DJ’s playing.

I don’t think I have ever danced so much in my life!

As the sun went down the VIP area suddenly filled up and the place was packed with people jumping up and down to the music.

As Armin van Buuren took to the centre of the pool on the main DJ stage, the entire crowd went crazy. I’ve found a clip on YouTube here from the same night, if you fancy having a look!

It was honestly one of the best nights of my life and could not have been a better start to Megan’s hen and our weekend in Ibiza!

We left just after midnight and a couple of girls went onto Amnesia but my bed was calling after a few too many vodkas and sleep deprevation kicking in (I’m so not hardcore!).

Day one complete! Join me tomorrow for a pool party at Ocean Beach, I have lots of photos to share!
