Happy Friday!! I hope you’ve all had a fabulous week!

This is my firth and final outfit from ‘A Week At Work In Dorothy Perkins‘, and I’m sharing with you an outfit that will effortlessly take you from the boardroom to the bar. This is the perfect day to night ensemble, and requires very little wardrobe change because lets be honest, nobody has time for that, especially on a Friday!

Although I’ve spoken this week about the benefits of wearing colour in the office, I also firmly believe you cannot beat an all black look now and again. I also find it easier to style an all black outfit for both the daytime and evening.

A black midi slip skirt is a major wardrobe staple this season, to wear both in and out of the office. They’re so popular right now because of how easy they are to style. I fell in love with this Dorothy Perkins’ number because of the subtle animal print, which is only picked up in certain lighting. It’s so delicate and beautiful.

I’ve styled it with a simple black sleeveless top, but you could tuck in anything from a black blouse to a basic tee and it’ll look chic. During office hours, I would throw a plain jumper over the top, tucked into the front. This is mainly to keep me warm but also to dress down my look slightly. Once work is over, I would take the jumper off and replace with a black blazer and a long coat to venture out for some well deserved drinks!

I’ve kept in with the all black theme with this cross body bag that’s just the right size for all my essentials (mainly my make up!). Of course, I’ve opted for heels and I decided to wear these studded beauties which make the outfit pop.

One thing I’ve spoken about on my blog time and time again, is how much I love finding workwear pieces that can be styled out of hours too. 90% of my wardrobe can be worn both in the office, and mix and matched for my weekends and evenings too. I’m such an advocate for this because not only are you saving money, but not wasting clothes either!

Friday’s outfit is a great example of this because I would happily wear it out for dinner with friends or at a party, but I can also style this skirt for an important meeting during 9-5 too.
