A Week At Work In Dorothy Perkins | Monday

Although January is the month of new beginnings, increased positivity and motivation, lets be honest…January is tough! The weather is getting colder, I’ve already given up on Dry Jan, and all I want to do is stay cosy in bed each morning. But I refuse to let this affect my mood!
I’m turning Mondays around and making them my favourite day of the week. Mondays are for putting on a stylish, statement outfit which makes you feel most confident and walking into work with your shoulders back and your head high.
I’ve styled Monday’s outfit around this super-chic snake print skirt. I didn’t want to distract the attention away from the pattern, so I’ve paired it with a cosy black roll neck. Roll neck’s are a staple for your Winter workwear wardrobe, as they can be mix and matched with pretty much anything. Plus, they keep you nice and warm during the commute and at your desk throughout the day too.
To keep with the neutral colour palette, I’ve thrown on this smart camel coat over the top. As you know, I’m a huge fan of longer length coats for work because not only do they keep you warm, but they fall below your skirt length and look chic with trousers too.
To finish off the look, I’ve slipped into some patent heels which have a subtle hint of leopard print at the back. I thought this was a chic way of incorporating the print mixing trend into my look without making it too obvious.
Last but not least, my handbag of choice is a black tote bag with a tortoiseshell handle. It’s the perfect size to hold my make up bag, wallet, crystals, diary and hand cream. All the essentials!
What I love most about this outfit is just how easily the separate pieces can be mix and matched to create lots of different looks for work. Once we move into Spring (is it bad that I’m already excited?!), I can pair this skirt with a light blouse or short sleeved top. I can also wear this jumper french tucked into a pair of peg leg trousers, too.
I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Tuesday’s look! Whilst you’re waiting, click here to browse Dorothy Perkins new collection, and make sure you’re following me on Instagram here for lots of workwear inspiration.
