Workwear Style | How to Dress for a Summer Business Trip

I’ve recently returned from a business trip to Israel, which taught me a few things about dressing professionally in 35 degree weather! And I can assure you it was a lot easier than I anticipated. I expected to be overheated and sweating profusely by the time I stepped into the meeting room, but wearing light dresses together with the magic of air conditioning, it was fine!

I had two mornings of presentations and meetings on my itinerary, including a meeting at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. All venues had air conditioning which was a god send, therefore I rarely felt hot other than when running from the taxi into the building!

The first dress I packed is the green daisy print dress picked above, which is made from a light yet durable fabric. This is my ultimate happy dress! I put it on when I want to feel confident and good about myself, as I love the way it cuts in all the right places.

The second dress is also one of my favourite Summer dresses. The floaty, lightweight fabric hangs loosely allowing you to stay cool throughout the day.

One of the toughest things to get right when dressing for warmer climates, is finding the balance between not wanting to overheat yet also not wanting to show too much skin either to avoid looking unprofessional. Both of these dresses are the perfect combination of cool and professional.

I packed my favourite work sandals which I have in two colours, nude and black. They go with everything and are closed at the back which I find are more suitable for the office.

Here are some extra tips for workwear travel dressing:

– use a large tote bag as your travelling handbag, so not only can it fit your entire life inside, it can double up for meetings too.

– buy sandals in nude and black, so they go with every outfit!

– even though you’re abroad, remember to still apply the same office dressing etiquette as you would back at home (i.e. don’t show too much skin)

I’ve linked some of my favourite Summer work dresses below that are perfect for warmer climates, as well as both the exact sandals and similar versions too.
