Workwear Style | How to Rock the Satin Trend at Work

Satin dresses and blouses dominated the catwalks back in February, and confirmed one of the biggest trends for Autumn/Winter 2016. Now that the stores are fully stocked with new season collections, it’s your time to shop the trend and make it your own.

Who says you can’t rock fashion trends in the office? Of course you can! Pairing certain key pieces with staple items creates a look that’s both on trend and keeping with your individual style. Don’t be afraid to step out of the norm and be creative!

From pyjama style suiting to victorian style dresses, the satin trend came in many different forms, but with two things in common, loose fitting and colourful. It’s a fun trend and I’m personally enjoying stepping out of my comfort zone and wearing something a bit daring (for me at least!), but still keeping it suitable for the office.

I paired my satin blouse with a navy pencil skirt and simple black heels, which kept it professional for the office and also true to my personal style. I adore the pale pink and green oriental style on the blouse, it’s details like this that get peoples heads turning and asking you where it’s from!

Buying pieces like this will also work out of the office too, as I plan to wear this blouse with a pair of high waisted jeans and ankle boots at the weekend. It’s what you pair them with that transforms the entire look and can take it from the office to the weekend in seconds!

I’ve put together some of my favourite satin pieces below. Happy shopping and have a fabulous week!
